Taking A Little Liberty...

An Edwardian dress and cutwork coat from my traveling museum.

I am publicly stating that I am taking a little liberty. I am first a Victorian era historian/ author/speaker. However, I also enjoy the Edwardian period, 1901-1910. Without the Victorian period, 1837-1901 there would be no Edwardian style, the Victorian era is its foundation.
So from time to time you will see me reenacting the Edwardian era. For example, I adore the dresses worn on the Titanic. So if you will, permit me this small liberty from time to time.  :)

Welcome To All Things Victorian!!

Kind greetings,
Allow me to introduce myself, but first, why not pour a cup of tea and sit with me awhile? Victoriana Lady Lisa Lewis here, I am pleased to meet another kindred spirit. My passion is the Victorian era; lifestyle, fashions, books, antiques, architecture, ephemera, jewellery, photos, diaries, scrapbooks, journals, mourning rituals and more.
My passion began as a young girl of ten while looking at photos of my Victorian ancestors. I was fascinated by their clothing, as well as my family history.

I began to read everything that I could get my hands on and watched every movie about the 19th century that I could find. My favorite movies, Little Women & Somewhere In Time truly inspired me.
When I was just fifteen I went to my first estate sale. I purchased a delicate pair of crochet lace gloves and a beaded drawstring handbag...and I was hooked! From that day on I continued collectingVictorian & Edwardian fashions & accessories. Now I travel all over the country dressed in authentic antique turn of the century clothing presenting historic programs with my traveling museum c. 1860-1920. My favorite era is the Belle Epoche, (The Beautiful era) c.1890-1910. The Bustle had vanished and the Gibson Girl was introduced during this time.
